Cradle of Humankind
The Cradle of Humankind is located about 50 km northwest of Johannesburg in a small extension into the North West Province and only an hour drive from Sparkling Waters Hotels. The site was Declared a World Heritage site by UNESCO in 1999, This area contains a complex of limestone caves containing the fossilized remains of ancient forms of animals, plants and most importantly, hominids.
